gel polish

miure gel polish comes in two kinds: colour, and colour with an effect. The gel polish colours: from quiet nudes to reds with opinions. The cat eye gel polish: ultra-fine metallic pigment, shaped with a magnet into a band of light that moves with you. Everything cures in 30 seconds under the miure lamp, works with both bases, and is HEMA, di-HEMA and TPO free. Start with the colour. The rest follows.

what is gel polish?

Gel polish is nail colour with a commitment clause. Instead of air drying, it cures under an LED lamp, layer by layer, into a finish that’s harder, glossier and far more patient than regular polish. At miure it runs on four numbered steps: 01 prepper, 02 base, 03 colour, 04 finish. Two thin coats, 30 seconds under the miure lamp each, seal the free edge, done. It holds until you end it.

gel polish vs regular nail polish

Regular nail polish dries in the air and starts negotiating with your week by day two. Gel polish cures, and that changes the terms: no smudging on the way out the door, no chips, no lifting. Up to 12 days on the peel-off base, 14+ on the soak-off. The trade is a lamp and a removal step, and both are smaller than they sound.

HEMA, di-HEMA & TPO free by design

The most common causes of gel polish allergies are HEMA and di-HEMA. TPO is no longer permitted in cosmetics in the EU. miure gel polish is formulated without all three: developed and made in Belgium, without compromise on hold or shine. Strong doesn’t need to be harsh.

frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between the colours and the cat eye gel polish?

The colours are classic gel polish: solid or sheer shades with an even, glossy finish. Cat eye gel polish contains ultra-fine metallic pigment: hold the magnet above the wet layer and the colour gathers into a band of light. Both apply the same way; cat eye adds one step and one tool.

How long does gel polish last?

That depends on the layer under it. Over the peel-off base coat: up to 12 days. Over the soak-off base coat: 14+ days. Thin coats, proper prep and a sealed free edge with every layer are what make those numbers real.

Is gel polish bad for your nails?

The polish isn’t the problem: removal is where the damage stories start, with picking, scraping and force. Done properly, your natural nails stay intact. The peel-off base was designed for exactly that: one clean peel, no soaking, no filing.

Do you need a lamp for gel polish?

Yes. The colour and top coat cure in 30 seconds per layer under the miure lamp. Already own an LED lamp? miure gel polish cures under any standard LED lamp; a less powerful one may need up to 60 seconds.

How do you remove gel polish at home?

Two routes, depending on your base. Peel-off: one drop of cleaner and the manicure comes off in one piece. Soak-off: remover, the removal clips and about ten minutes. Both without damage, both explained step by step in the edit.

Are all miure colours full coverage?

No, and that’s on purpose. Part of the range is full coverage in two coats, part is deliberately sheer: soft veils of colour that let the nail show through. Each shade’s page tells you which kind it is.

Why is gel polish sticky after curing?

That layer is supposed to be there. Colour and base coats cure with a thin sticky film on top: it’s what the next layer bonds to, so don’t wipe it away. The only layer that cures completely dry is the no-wipe top coat. When the lamp clicks off there, the manicure is finished.

How should I store gel polish?

Closed, and away from light. Gel polish cures under light, and daylight counts: a bottle left open or standing in the sun starts to harden, and hardening can’t be undone. Cap on tight, drawer or cupboard, and every shade keeps.

Does every shade work with both bases?

Yes, every colour and every cat eye shade works over the peel-off and the soak-off base. Pick the base for the commitment, pick the shade for the mood: the two decisions never limit each other.

What do I need to start with gel polish?

A base coat, a colour, a top coat and an LED lamp: that’s the honest minimum. The miure set puts them together your way, with prep and tools added only if you want them.
